An artist name is to be considered a brand on its own and therefore needs proper management.

Updating biographies and discographies, writing press releases and service this to the appropriate media, offering your new tracks to label managers and negotiating record deals, submit your songs to neighboring rights organizations and collecting societies, maintaining websites and community spaces on the web with fresh content, taking care of interview and/or remix requests or going through piles of paperwork which virtually nobody understands?
